Try not to be too precise or perfect. Don’t pay too much attention at adding the texture of the hair. Focus your attention on the hair shape and how it flows. Try to ask yourself: What is it that makes it look the way it looks? Its curves? Short but somehow spiky hair?
I’m sorry if it doesn’t make any sense :( I don’t know how to explain myself but hey I’ll try to find some hair tutorials that I found that seem to explain it better than I can and I’ll send them to you soon (I’m sorry if this didn’t help)
